MCDC awards Re-entry Grant (GMP Investigator conducting research in the feild) (c) Clerk, C (GMP) 2005

A Re-entry grant of $150,000 has been awarded to an MCDC Investigator who was previously supported by the Gates Malaria Partnership (GMP).

Applications were reviewed by a panel of independent experts and proposals were judged on (a) the relevance of the proposal to the control of malaria in Africa, (b) the scientific quality of the proposal and (c) the previous research accomplishments of the applicant.

The award was made to Anthony Mbonye for a two-year project entitled 'Genotyping P. falciparum resistant strains to sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine among pregnant women in Uganda'.
