Launch of Web Fora

MCDC has developed a web-based supervisor forum which is being used to facilitate communication within the MCDC Community web site.

The supervisor forum which has recently been set up will provide a means to promote communication between the student and their African and Northern supervisors and advisors. These are private spaces for forums and have the facility to attach documents to help with reviewing drafts, sharing articles, resources, etc

The wider MCDC Community web site encourages information exchange and facilitates communication and collaboration between the different groups and individuals associated with the Consortium - PhD students, senior researchers (Investigators), supervisors, mentors, educational advisor, secretariat and members of the committees. Specifically, the Community was created to provide a platform for: • Exchange of information and resources • Discussion about research topics, skills and techniques • Social interaction of all members of the consortium as groups or individuals • Further development of the Students’ and Investigators’ careers through personal development planning (PDP) activities • Participation of MCDC led discussions .
