The Medical Rearch Council and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine invite applications from West Africans nationals for a prestigious global health research fellowship. Applicants must be active clinical or non-clinical researchers with up to three years postdoctoral research experience at the application deadline date. Experience of working with the Unit, or the LSHTM, or both will be an advantage but not essential.
The Fellow will undertake an original research project in the West Africa region, and in collaboration with the two host institutions. The applicant shall propose the project, which must be aligned with the research strengths of both host institutions. The Fellowship will be for up to three years and includes salary, research, travel and training support costs. Fellowships are expected to start by 1 April 2015.
The Fellow will benefit from access to the exceptionally strong research and training resources of the Unit and the LSHTM, enabling the Fellow to accelerate their scientific and professional development. They will join two existing talented WAF appointees.
The MRC-LSHTM West African Global Health Research Fellowship (WAF) Programme is supported by a £1M award from the UK MRC, with additional partnership funding from the LSHTM and the Unit.
