Brian Greenwood

MCDC Director

Brian Greenwood is Professor of Clinical Tropical Medicine at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine where he has worked since 1995. He qualified in medicine at the University of Cambridge in 1962 and did his initial training in London. He then spent 14 years in Nigeria, first at University College, Ibadan and then at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria followed by 16 years in The Gambia where he directed the UK’s Medical Research Council Laboratories. His main research interests are malaria, pneumonia and meningitis in young children. He is the PI for MCDC.
