Mentor Training in Malawi

23 November 2011

The aims of the mentor training workshop were to provide training for mentors and to pilot test the newly-developed mentoring support materials in a training programme. Sixteen new and experienced mentors from the CoM and its affiliated institutions attended the workshop, and found the discussions and sharing of ideas and experiences helped give a “real world” and “hands on” experience of mentoring.

In addition to generating ideas to help develop mentoring programmes within their own institutions, the workshop also provided a training programme that could be adapted to meet specific institutional needs, and an opportunity for mentors to start building a supportive network.
